The short film "Night Fishing," starring Son Suk-ku, will premiere at a ticket price of just 1,000 won.

This marks the first time a short film will be exclusively released in theaters.

CGV announced on the 10th that "Night Fishing," featuring Son Suk-ku in the lead role, will be screened for two weeks starting from the 14th.

Directed by Moon Byung-gon, who won the Palme d'Or for Short Films at the 66th Cannes Film Festival in 2013 for "Safe," "Night Fishing" has a runtime of 12 minutes and 59 seconds.

The film presents a unique storyline, a thriller set at an electric vehicle charging station on a dark night, involving a mysterious incident.

Audiences can look forward to Son Suk-ku’s intense solo performance as he struggles to 'catch' something.

"Night Fishing" is co-produced by Stanum, a production company founded by Son Suk-ku, and Hyundai Motors.

The film will be shown at 15 CGV locations nationwide on the weekends of the 14th-16th and 21st-23rd of next month. Ticket prices are set at 1,000 won.

As both the lead actor and a co-producer, Son Suk-ku brings his signature sharp gaze and charisma to the film, leading the narrative with action-packed scenes as he attempts to catch something unknown.

"Night Fishing" is noted for its fresh approach, capturing scenes from the perspective of a car, with cameras positioned at the front, back, and left sides of the vehicle.

The film is uniquely shot using only the cameras installed in the Hyundai Ioniq 5, inspired by body cams that police officers wear during operations such as suspect arrests.

Director Moon came up with this idea based on the concept of body cams.

Son Suk-ku mentioned that it wasn't easy to film actors and objects with fixed angles, but he believes that "the constraints of such shooting methods led to the creation of an innovative subject.

According to CGV, this is the first time a short film is going through the official procedures for classification and theatrical release, similar to feature films.

"Night Fishing" is expected to be well-received by audiences who feel burdened by high movie ticket prices.

The combination of the short film format and affordable ticket price offers a new kind of enjoyment for viewers seeking diverse cinematic experiences.
