Why do Koreans go wild about MBTI

Have you done the MBTI test?

MBTI is an essential part of conversation these days?

Why so crazy about MBTI?

Let's find out with stay14!

MBTI was developed by Isabel Myers and Katharine Briggs in 1943.

Based on the personality theory of Carl Jung, a European psychologist, they developed a theory about how each individual perceives, judges, and perceives.

Because it is a theoretical foundation, MBTI uses a type index to measure and classify each personality type.

Now MBTI is one of the most popular personality analysis tools in the world.

Also, There are many reasons why MBTI is popular in Korea.

First, personality plays an important role in Korean society in general.

This is especially important in places like college entrance exams and job recruitment.

MBTI is recognized as a tool to understand your personality type and discover your strengths in these situations.

Also, in Korea, people generally like to hang out with others and prefer group life.

Due to this cultural background, MBTI is very popular as a tool to understand and improve the way you interact with others.

Also, in Korea, understanding the personality types of oneself and others is considered to be very helpful in improving interpersonal relationships, so MBTI is recognized as a very useful tool in society.

Lastly, due to the spread of the Internet and SNS, MBTI is one of the very popular tests in Korea.

Various activities such as sharing information on MBTI types through SNS and gathering among people of the same type are carried out.

These activities play a major role in making MBTI a more popular personality test tool.

The MBTI uses four basic dimensions for each personality type.

These four dimensions are.

Extravitation vs. Introversion

This dimension relates to how an individual obtains energy from the outside world.

Extroverts like to be with others and get energy from active and stimulating environments.

Introverts, on the other hand, get energy either alone or in a quiet environment.

Sensing vs. Intuition

This dimension is related to how individuals collect and process information.

Sensuous figures are concerned with the actual facts and details of the world around them, and they are logical and practical.

Intuitive figures, on the other hand, are interested in general concepts and abstract ideas, and are imaginative.

Thinking vs. Feeling

This dimension is related to how individuals evaluate information and make decisions.

Thinking characters make decisions based on logical, analytical, and objective facts.

Emotional characters, on the other hand, are emotional and active, and focus on human relationships and values.

Judging vs. Perceiving

This dimension is related to how individuals understand and organize the world.

The judgmental personality is systematic, planned, and systematic in making decisions.

On the other hand, cognitive figures are exploratory and flexible, and they often make decisions on the fly in everyday tasks.

For example,

In MBTI, T (Thinking) and F (Feeling) correspond to recognition functions.

These recognition functions represent how people collect and process information, and T and F represent two different ways in these recognition functions.

One of the tests that distinguishes T from F in MBTI is a test consisting of the following questions

When you have to make a decision, how do you decide?

a) Decide based on factual and logical analysis. (T)

b) Decisions based on emotion and value judgment. (F)

When solving a problem, how do you solve it?

a) Decompose problems and resolve them in a logical order. (T)

b) Solve by considering other people's feelings and opinions. (F)

When choosing, what criteria do you have to choose?

a) Choose based on existing rules or principles. (T)

b) Choose based on personal values and other people's feelings. (F)

These questions distinguish T from F by identifying preferences for logical analysis and emotional judgment.

However, MBTI does not see these recognition functions as one, but combines them with other recognition functions to define an individual's personality type.
