The global startup festival "Try Everything 2024" is scheduled to take place on September 11th and 12th at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul.
This event serves as a major platform for the global startup ecosystem, bringing together promising startups, large and medium-sized companies, investors, and accelerators from around the world.
Launched by the city of Seoul in 2020, Try Everything is held annually in September to stimulate the startup ecosystem and foster growth.
This year’s festival, themed “New Waves, New Ways,” focuses on tackling the challenges posed by the AI revolution and global uncertainties.
The goal is to drive tangible results, such as facilitating investment opportunities and promoting open innovation partnerships, both domestically and internationally.
One of the highlights of the event will be a keynote address by Lila Ibrahim, COO of Google DeepMind, on September 11th.
Her speech, titled “The Future Shaped by Generative AI,” will explore how generative AI is transforming industries, the environment, and education, as well as its potential to benefit society as a whole.
Seoul has made remarkable strides in recent years, ranking 9th globally as the best city for startups in 2024—its highest ranking to date.
The city also claimed the top spot in Asia for procurement, further boosting its support for startups by strengthening investment attraction programs for innovative companies in fields such as digital technology, advanced manufacturing, bio-tech, and creative industries.
In line with these efforts, fund management companies backed by Seoul's investments in future industries will gather at the festival to discuss upcoming investment trends and strategies for startups to succeed in the evolving market.
The event will also offer various programs aimed at fostering open innovation between local and international companies.
For the first time, the festival will introduce the "Seoul City IR (Investor Relations) - Challenge with Seoul" program.
This initiative will involve Seoul’s public organizations, including Seoul Metro, Children's Hospital, Water Recycling Center, and Gangnam Health Center, which will share successful collaboration cases and present technological needs to startups looking to partner with these entities.
Try Everything 2024 promises to be an exciting opportunity for startups, investors, and corporations to connect, innovate, and build the future together.
