Lotte World Mall, celebrating its 10th anniversary, has launched a giant lobster balloon at Seokchon Lake in Jamsil.

The "Lobster Wonderland" is a public art project, a collaboration between Lotte Property & Development, Songpa District Office, and world-renowned British artist Philip Colbert.

The project transforms Seokchon Lake and Lotte World Mall into a showcase of Colbert's imaginative lobster-themed works.

The most eye-catching piece is the "Floating Lobster King," a giant 16-meter-tall lobster balloon floating on the lake.

The lobster wears a blue shirt with a fried egg pattern, a crown, and is lounging on a tube.

Colbert described the work as "a piece that embodies my artistic approach of turning fantasy into reality and vice versa."

He added that it would be amusing to see a lobster comfortably floating in an urban lake.

At the outdoor World Park lawn, there are more pieces, including a 12-meter-tall lobster balloon that reinterprets Marcel Duchamp’s "Fountain," and a 7-meter-tall balloon featuring a lobster wearing an octopus as a hat.

Additionally, five other works, such as "Lobster Spam Can" and "Lobster Soup Can," dressed in Spam and Campbell’s soup cans, are on display.

This public exhibition runs until the 29th. Inside Lotte World Mall’s 2nd-floor Next Museum, 14 of Philip Colbert’s paintings, sculptures, and installations are also on display.

Since the mall’s opening in October 2014, Lotte Property & Development has continued public exhibitions nearly every year, starting with the globally beloved "Rubber Duck" installation, often featuring large balloon artworks at Seokchon Lake or around the mall.
