After 9 years, the rookie boy group Tours (TWS), from the agency Pledis Entertainment, debuted with their debut song "The First Encounter Doesn't Go According to Plan," and is currently making strides on music charts.
On the domestic representative music site Melon, their weekly ranking has soared to 50th place, showing an impressive momentum.
Tours' first mini-album, "Sparkling Blue," released on the 22nd of last month, features the title track "The First Encounter Doesn't Go According to Plan," expressing the excitement and vagueness of a first encounter with Tours' youthful sensibility.
The song, with its catchy chorus "The first encounter is too difficult," is a hybrid pop track that combines drums, guitar, and synth sounds.
Furthermore, "The First Encounter Doesn't Go According to Plan(Plot Twist)" ranked 10th on the YouTube Music's "Weekly Popular Song Chart" (February 2nd to 8th), and 11th on the "Weekly Popular Music Video Chart" compiled for the same period.
On YouTube Shorts, a list of the most used songs by creators, it ranked 9th on February 11th.
Pledis explained that Tours has been attracting attention among K-pop fans with their refreshing yet crisp choreography, and the period when Tours began to show a significant upward trend in various indicators coincided with the exposure of performance videos.
They also stated, "All the content that significantly increased the subscription rate of the Tours team's YouTube channel is performance videos.
Especially, the cumulative views of the content on the global video platform TikTok account of Tours, which mostly consists of performance short-form videos, exceeded 100 million views (as of February 2nd) just a month after opening the account.
Tours is a six-member group consisting of members Shin Yu, Dohoon, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihun, and Kyungmin.
The English notation TWS stands for "TWENTY FOUR SEVEN WITH US," which means "all moments," with the numbers 24 and 7 representing a day, implying "always with Tours."
