Searching for 'Madacassol' on YouTube yields numerous videos with titles like "Madacassol Alone is Enough Instead of Expensive Regeneration Creams", "No Need for Expensive Regeneration Creams Anymore", "Apply Madacassol Like This, No Need for Dermatologists", and "How to Achieve Glowing Skin with Affordable Madacassol".

The doctors behind these videos explain that Madacassol contains centella asiatica extract (TECA), which promotes collagen synthesis, soothes, and moisturizes the skin, making it beneficial when used correctly.

 

 

Local doctor Lee Sang-wook explained, "Madacassol is an ointment applied to heal wounds.

 

It became famous for helping with regeneration and elasticity when mixed with a small amount of moisturizing cream.

 

Regeneration creams indeed contain all the active ingredients for skin regeneration, making them expensive.

He advised mixing Madacassol with a moisturizing cream and Vaseline to maximize effects. 

 

"Combining Madacassol for regeneration, a moisturizing cream for hydration, and Vaseline for a coating effect can provide immense moisturizing benefits to our skin," Lee added.

Dr. Park Young-jin from Obliv Clinic warned, "The primary purpose of ointments is wound regeneration. Using them for a short period can be effective, but daily use might lower skin durability for those with sensitive skin, increasing the risk of contact dermatitis."

He further advised, "Instead of using it indiscriminately, it’s better to use it for 1-2 weeks, up to a month, if the skin is sensitive, after laser treatments, or when regeneration is needed for wounds."

Dr. Park recommended using only the gel or ointment forms of Madacassol for daily skincare as they contain only centella asiatica extract. 

 

He emphasized that the antibiotic in Madacassol Care products and the antibiotics and steroids in complex Madacassol products should only be used on wounded areas.

"The ointment contains more oil, while the gel contains more water. The gel mixes well with creams due to its high water content and absorbs well, making it lighter. Use the ointment form if your skin is dry, and the gel form if it isn’t," he suggested.

He recommended starting by mixing a small amount of ointment with cream and gradually increasing the quantity. 

 

"Begin with a ratio of 1 part ointment to 9 parts cream. If there’s no irritation the next day, slowly increase the amount over two weeks to a ratio of 3 to 7. Using it at night creates a protective barrier on the skin and feels comfortable," Park said.

Dr. Park emphasized, "If at any point, your skin starts feeling sensitive or looks red, reduce the amount or stop using it immediately."
