However, the Granny look was mainly applicable to women, but the Grandpa Core look can be adopted by both genders, making it a more widely accepted fashion trend.

 

The appeal of Grandpa Core lies in its timeless elegance.

 

It doesn't follow trends closely, allowing for long-term wear, and it can even involve repurposing clothes found in grandfathers' wardrobes.

Market research firm Statista projected that the market share of the domestic second-hand clothing market, which was 18.1% of the total market last year, will rise to 24.3% by 2027.

 

According to a survey by the Korea Federation of Textile Industries, 35.0% of female clothing buyers said they had engaged in second-hand clothing transactions in the past year.

 

By age group, the 20s had the highest proportion at 47.4%. Subsequently, the younger the age group, the less resistance there was to second-hand clothing transactions, with 30s (35.5%) and 40s (34.4%) following suit.

 

The second-hand trading market is expected to grow even further as the economic downturn and the trend of value consumption converge.
