Best Seoul Valleys to Visit by Subway

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

After a long rainy season, the heat has inevitably arrived.

 

With temperatures in Seoul exceeding 30 degrees, here are some valleys in Seoul where you can enjoy the heat.

 

You can reach them by subway, so why not visit a nearby valley this summer?

First, I recommend Byeokwoon Valley located in Suraksan.

 

Located in Sanggye-dong, Nowon-gu, Seoul, you can reach Byeokwoon Valley by taking subway line 7 to Suraksan Station, then taking a bus for two stops and walking for about 15 minutes.

 

Byeokwoon Valley has a deep upper stream and a shallow lower stream, so you can choose a suitable spot for playing in the water.

 

The valley continues along the path towards Mulgae Rock, with a diving pool in the upper stream that is about 2 meters deep, perfect for older children and adults.

 

In the lower stream, you can see fish, including many over 10cm in size, making it fun for snorkeling.

Near Inwangsan in Seoul is Suseongdong Valley.

 

Located in Jongno-gu, Seoul, Suseongdong Valley flows down from Inwangsan and joins Cheonggyecheon.

 

The sound of the water is loud and clear, and the area's name was called Suseongdong (Water Sound Village) during the Joseon Dynasty because of this.

 

Along with the natural beauty, nearby cultural heritage sites like the site of Yun Dong-ju's boarding house, Tongin Market, Yi Sang's house, Seochon Hanok Village, and Gyeongbokgung Palace can also be enjoyed.

In Gwanak-gu, Seoul, there's Gwanaksan Valley, which is great for water play with children.

 

You can get there by getting off at Gwanaksan Station on the Sillim Line and walking or taking a bus.

 

Gwanaksan Valley is designed for children with shallow water, weekly water quality inspections, and a safety officer always on duty.

 

At the entrance of Gwanaksan Park, a 70m water play area has been created in the valley of the natural learning center.

Finally, there is Ui-dong Valley in Gangbuk-gu, Seoul.

 

Ui-dong Valley, a representative valley of Gangbuk, is located between Dobongsan and Bukhansan.

 

You can get off at Bukhansan Ui Station and walk there.

 

It's an easily accessible spot for enjoying water play without much hassle.

 

Ui-dong Valley has waterfalls and pools scattered throughout, with a long stream flowing from the entrance to Baekundae, known as the gentlest course in Bukhansan.

 

Although entry into the water is prohibited since it is located within Bukhansan National Park, just sitting on the rocks and breathing in the fresh air can make you forget the heat.
