In the past, many pet-friendly facilities had numerous restrictions, but now, truly pet-friendly spaces are emerging in greater numbers.

 

Sono International's Sono Pet Club & Resort in Hongcheon, Gangwon-do, is a well-known pet-friendly vacation facility among dog owners.

 

First opened in July 2020 with 157 rooms, this resort features custom-designed rooms with non-slip flooring and bed heights suitable for pets.

 

It also boasts a "playground" over 5,000 square meters (1,500 pyeong) of natural grass where pets can run and play without a leash.

The Sono Pet Club & Resort offers various programs and services for dogs, such as "Cheerful Sports Day" and pet care services.

Kyowon Group has recently entered the pet-friendly accommodation market by launching the pet-friendly hotel "KINOCK."

 

The hotel, formerly the Suite Hotel Gyeongju, has been entirely renovated into a pet-specialized facility.

 

Covering a total floor area of 7,000 square meters (2,120 pyeong), it has 34 rooms specifically designed for pets.

 

KINOCK includes extensive amenities for pets, such as a 2,500-pyeong outdoor pet park, an indoor pet park, a pet kindergarten, a pet grooming salon, pet boarding services, and a pet retail shop.

E-Land Park's Kensington Resort Chungju has also been revamped as a "pet-friendly resort," offering 80 pet-friendly rooms.

 

Some of these rooms are equipped with pet playgrounds and barbecue facilities. Additionally, standard rooms are provided with pet dishes, litter boxes, non-slip mats, and dust removers.

 

 

 

Kensington Resort is running a special pet-only water play area, "Mung Water Playground," until August 31.

 

This area, sized at 77 square meters (23 pyeong), includes shallow water areas for wading and deeper sections with a depth of up to 110 centimeters.
