The largest art fair in Korea, "Art Busan 2023," opened at BEXCO in Busan on the 4th.
A total of 145 galleries from 22 countries (111 domestic, 34 overseas) participated in this year's event, which features AI technology integrated services like Chatdossant for the first time in the world of art fairs.
Through the official Kakao channel of Art Busan, visitors can easily find information about participating galleries and artists through interactive chat.
Additionally, visitors can use kiosks at the event to create their own artwork and print the completed images to take home.
The exhibition space covers an area of 8,000 square meters, which is equivalent to four soccer fields.
In addition to top domestic galleries such as Kukje Gallery, Gallery Hyundai, PKM, Hakgojae, Lian Gallery, One and J Gallery, Tadeusz Łapiński, and Tang Contemporary Art, Perez Projects, Dua Art Square, and Apremidi are some of the galleries that have recently opened new branches in Korea.
Galleries that are well-known in the global art market, such as Leo Gallery (Shanghai, Hong Kong), Bazart (Paris, France), La Causa Gallery (Madrid, Spain), Lazy Mike (Riga, Latvia), FWR Gallery (Berlin, Germany), Bart (Amsterdam, Netherlands), and YOD Gallery (Osaka, Tokyo, Japan), participated in the event for the first time this year and quickly caught the attention of collectors.
Art Busan's signature exhibition program, "Connect," features a total of 12 exhibitions including works by Robert Terryen, Daniel Buren, Yoon Ha Project, and Philip Colbert, who is considered the next generation of Andy Warhol.
Colbert's large lobster balloon is installed in the garden of the Paradise Hotel in Haeundae.
Art Busan 2023 will run until the 7th.
