Kakaotalk is a social medium that almost every Korean uses. People in Korea are more used to using Kakaotalk than DM or facebook message when they contact other people. If you decided to live in Korea, then it is a must to download this app for a better living.

How to add my friends

 

               

 

• If you look at the main page of the app, there are 4 buttons at the top. If you click the human emoji, you can add your friends.
• There are 3 ways to add your friend and this is the first way; using QR code. If you click the human emoji, your own QR code naturally pops up. Also, if you press the ‘send’ button below your QR code, you can send and share your QR code to other people. 
• If you press ‘QR code’ at the top, you can scan other people’s QR code.

 

 

                        

 

 

• The second way is to add by contracts. There are lots of countries on the list so you can find your country number. You can also use ‘search’ function to find your country quickly.

 

               

 

 

• The third way is to add by ID. You can ask other people’s Kakaotalk ID and add them. You don’t need to worry about forgetting what was your ID. You can check your ID right below.

How to make a group chat and invite other people

 

 

 

 

• Push the ‘chat’ button down below and push ‘chat+’ button at the top to make a new chat
• Push ‘Regular chat’, then you can invite people as many as you want. You can just invite one people so that you can kick off 1:1 chat.

How to send pictures or file attachments

 

 

• If you go to a chat room, you can find ‘+’ button right left your typing place. If you click it the ‘+’ button changes into ‘x’ button and it brings you 11 options as you can see.
• All you need to do is just click the button if you want some functions related to that.

What is Gifticon?

The world Gifticon comes from the combination of two words; ‘Gift’ and ‘Emoticon’. So, it’s like a gift in emoticon form. The gifticon has barcodes and you can scan if you want to use it especially at the stores or restaurant, but also you can just send the gifts by posts. So lots of people use this function when they have to send some birthday gifts.

How to change the backgrounds

 

 

• If you look at the 5 buttons below, there is a button with 3 dots. This button means ‘settings’. If you click this button there are lots of options as you can see in the right picture.
• Especially if you want to change the backgrounds of your chat room, you can press ‘Display’ and ‘Themes’.

 

 

 

• If you click ‘Display’, you can change your text size, wallpaper and screen rotation.
• If you click ‘Themes’, you can change the default mode of your chat room.
