TMap Mobility : The Way You Can Help Environment

In South Korea, Tmap refers to a popular mobile navigation application developed by SK Telecom.

Tmap stands for "Telecom Map," and it is widely used by Koreans for navigation and transportation information.

Tmap offers a range of features to help users navigate their way around South Korea, including real-time traffic information, public transportation routes and schedules, point-of-interest search, and voice-guided navigation.

Tmap provides accurate and up-to-date maps, allowing users to search for specific addresses, landmarks, and businesses.

It also offers features such as turn-by-turn directions, lane guidance, and alternative route suggestions to help users reach their destinations efficiently.

The application is available for both iOS and Android devices, and it has gained popularity in South Korea due to its user-friendly interface, reliable navigation information, and integration with other SK Telecom services.

Tmap has become an essential tool for many Koreans when it comes to planning routes, estimating travel times, and navigating through the country's bustling cities and towns when they are using their vehicle.

One of T map's notable features is the "children protection path" (어린이보호경로), which guides users to avoid school zones as much as possible for safety. Additionally, voice reports such as congestion alerts and speed camera notifications are available.

Recently, T map has partnered with the NUGU voice assistant to introduce voice-command functionality.

Users can now perform various tasks using voice commands, such as finding specific locations, initiating navigation to home, checking toll fees, making phone calls, sending text messages, listening to music, accessing news and weather information, and more.

Drivers can also check their driving records, which are available immediately upon reaching their destinations.

By utilizing driving scores, users can save up to an 11% discount on car insurance premiums.

SKT smartphone plan users enjoy free data charges, including air maps.

However, data charges apply when using music, news, radio, and podcasts within the app.

Recently, the company announced that it has intensified its commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives through its navigation service and driver safety monitoring program.

According to Tmap, their efforts in guiding drivers on the most efficient routes and promoting fuel-efficient driving habits have resulted in an estimated reduction of approximately 8.9 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions over the past eight years.

This reduction is equivalent to the annual carbon absorption of 8,228 square kilometers of 30-year-old pine forests.

As part of the efforts to promote eco-friendly driving, Tmap Mobility is considering expanding the 'Eco Driving Incentive Program' currently underway in Paju City.

The Eco Driving Incentive Program is based on TMAP's driving score system, which monitors eco-friendly driving habits.

Under this program, drivers who practice eco-friendly driving can receive incentives of up to 100,000 KRW.

Paju City has implemented this program as an active carbon-neutral policy to encourage citizens' participation.

Tmap Mobility is also discussing the expansion of the incentive program with other local governments.

The app is available for both iOS and Android devices.

Why not try Tmap when you can save carbon emission by just driving a car?
