If you came to Korea, you should visit here as well, as even foreign tourists are flocking in.
A spaceship landed at 'Pink Whale'
"Expected to attract 1 million visitors" - the hot spot of Yeongjong Island
Yeongjong Island Inspire Resort Media art gallery 'Le Space'
Utilizing six sides for the first time in Korea with a 5m sphere deployed
Expecting 1 million annual visitors with vivid space viewing
Boarding the giant spaceship crafted to depart from the 'boarding gate', it moves to the space station 'Cosmo Station' that connects to new galaxies as soon as the door opens.
At this moment, a wormhole (a space-time tunnel connecting different dimensions) is discovered here.
Space-time distorts, and stars pour in, as violent waves engulf the spaceship in an instant.
Lava boils on both sides, and seawater surges up to the ceiling, with a small path extending through the waves.
Walking along the path, one plunges deep into the sea.
Despite only seeing it with the eyes, the scenery is so vivid that it makes the body sway.
Signs saying 'May cause dizziness' are posted everywhere.
If you visit Yeongjong Island in Incheon, you can experience a space journey as if you were on a real spaceship in a science fiction movie like 'Interstellar'.
This experience can be found inside 'Le Space', opened on the 1st of last month within the Mohegan Inspire Entertainment Resort on Yeongjong Island.
Space unfolded beyond the wormhole
Le Space is a sensory media art gallery opened by Hyundai Future Net for the first time at the Inspire Resort.
The theme of the exhibition is 'Journey to the Unknown World'.
Moving through 18 exhibition spaces, one can experience a journey to new dimensions reminiscent of space, forests, deep seas, deserts where flowers bloom, and new planets.
Each space is adorned with splendid digital art on the ceiling, walls, and floor, inspired by space, forests, deep seas, blooming flowers, and new planets.
Oh Tae-yoon, head of the Hyundai Future Net exhibition team, explained, "From the construction stage of Inspire, we discussed removing columns and maximizing the height of the building to allow the use of beam projectors on all six sides." He added, "It took about two years to secure the space and build the exhibition hall."
Since it took a long time for the exhibition to be completed, various advanced technologies introduced for the first time in Korea are incorporated.
Content utilizing a large 5m sphere and beam projector together is a first in Korea.
Various technologies such as interactive technology that displays red, blue, green, and pink lines according to the mood of the viewer, kinetic art where the artwork itself moves, and fog spraying to simulate erupting lava are applied.
These technologies react according to the viewer's route, making the space travel story more realistic.
Through this, viewers can immerse themselves vividly in the content without keeping a distance.
The round-shaped 'Unknown Alien Planet' at the first portal connecting from the space station is created with LED (light-emitting diode) to perfectly depict a spherical shape.
It's a miniature version of the 'Sphere' that has become a landmark in Las Vegas, USA. This artificial intelligence (AI) structure displays a 7-minute concept content reviving the brilliant memories of the alien planet with colorful lights.
All six sides, including the ceiling and floor, were utilized for the exhibition in this space, made on the same principle as the sphere.
There's more than just sightseeing
There's much to see here besides Le Space.
The media art filling the ceiling and walls with auroras, 'giant pink whales', have attracted attention since the early days of Inspire's opening, quickly emerging as a 'hot place'.
Whales pass by every hour and half-hour on the ceiling, attracting visitors from overseas to witness this media art spectacle.
The resort expects to welcome 1 million visitors annually.
Inspire has recently strengthened its food and fashion sections.
'Oasis Gourmet Village by Glow Seoul', a collaboration with the space branding specialist 'Glow Seoul', has been welcoming guests since the 10th.
It is a food court inside Inspire Mall with a total of 1,000 seats, selling Korean, Chinese, snack, pizza, and hamburger.
In addition to the food court, restaurants such as Hanwadam, Songchugama-gol, Hwangsaengga Kalguksu, and Rock Hotpot have opened.
Fashion stores such as First Dress, Dingul Store, and The Move, recently opened for Inspire, have introduced new brands for Inspire.
They plan to open indoor children's play facilities 'Bounce' and 'Bumper Car Park' and a large outdoor experiential park 'Discovery Park' in the second quarter of this year and complete the first phase of development.
Following this, they aim to complete phases 2-4 of development sequentially by 2046, aiming to become the 'largest resort in Northeast Asia'.
The total project cost is expected to be around 6 trillion won.
