Increasing instances of high levels of fine dust have been observed this month.

It is crucial to thoroughly remove fine dust by showering, washing the face, and brushing teeth after going out and returning home.

Since the eyes, nose, mouth, and skin are directly exposed areas, extra attention should be paid to cleaning.

Fine dust, present in the atmosphere, directly affects the respiratory system.

Particularly because tiny particles can penetrate deep into the lungs without being filtered out by the nasal mucosa and airways, exacerbating various respiratory diseases such as colds, asthma, chronic bronchitis, and pulmonary fibrosis.

After going out, it is helpful to gargle if there are symptoms of throat irritation.

When the throat mucosa becomes dry, fine dust adheres more easily, so it is advisable to drink more than 8 glasses (1.5 liters) of water a day.

When fine dust is severe, symptoms such as itching, dryness, allergic conjunctivitis, and dry eye syndrome often occur.

If your eyes feel itchy or foreign particles are felt after outdoor activities, avoid rubbing your eyes and use single-use artificial tears to rinse your eyes.

When applying eye drops, be careful not to touch the eyelids or eyelashes.

Professor of Medical Center's Ophthalmology department advised, "When going out, it is better to wear protective glasses than contact lenses, and if you have to wear contact lenses, be sure to thoroughly disinfect and clean them, and avoid wearing them for more than 8 hours."

After going out, don't forget to use saline solution to rinse the fine dust remaining in your nasal cavity.

Professor Kwak of the same hospital's Otolaryngology department said, "Washing away allergens in the nasal cavity increased by fine dust can help alleviate symptoms of rhinitis."

Fine dust on the skin can accelerate aging.

After going out, it is important to thoroughly cleanse using a mild cleanser.

Do not forget to use moisturizers to restore the skin barrier function.

Since fine dust stuck to hair and scalp may not be completely removed during cleansing, wearing a hat when going out is also recommended.
