After more than two years, the popular South Korean group B1A4 is making a comeback, and they are more determined than ever.

 

With members returning from military service, the group has dropped their eighth mini album, "Connect," expressing their excitement for what's to come!

 

In case if you are not aware who B1A4 is, B1A4 is a well-established South Korean boy band formed in 2011 under WM Entertainment, consisting of members CNU, Sandeul, and Gongchan.

 

Noted for their involvement in songwriting and composing, the group has maintained a distinctive musical style since their debut.

 

After a hiatus for mandatory military service, they've returned with their eighth mini album, "Connect," showcasing their enduring talent.

This new release comes around two years and two months after their last digital single, "Huge Horse," in November 2021.

 

The trio, Sandeul, Gongchan, and CNU, showcased their enthusiasm at a press event in Seoul on Monday, where Sandeul, who completed military service in August, nervously expressed hope that everyone would enjoy the new album.

 

What makes B1A4 stand out is their hands-on approach to music creation.

 

They've been actively involved in writing the music and lyrics for all five songs in the album, a tradition they've maintained since their debut.

 

Sandeul explained, "We've always thought that it was necessary to produce all of our songs by ourselves if we want to express B1A4's unique style."

The title track, "Rewind," written and composed by CNU, is a vibrant new jack swing number with a lively energy.

 

The group radiated joy during a showcase performance of the song, celebrating with high-fives, showcasing their musical talent.

 

CNU took most of the charge in writing and composing the second and third tracks, "Back To You" and "Pause," while Sandeul contributed to the fourth track, "When You Call My Name."

 

The trio collaborated on both the writing and composing of the last track, "Still In My Heart."

 

CNU shared that choosing the new jack swing genre allowed him to create a song that transcends generations.

 

"I am a big fan of music from the '80s and '90s. I picked a genre from that period because it would be nostalgic for the older generation yet fresh and new for the younger generation."

During their two-year break, from 10th of August in 2023, as Sandeul finished his social service agent, all B1A4 members completed their mandatory military service and pursued solo careers, but their passion for the group never wavered.

 

Gongchan, the youngest member, mentioned, "All of us were busy with our solo careers, but we got together almost once a week to discuss the new album."

 

Looking back on their journey, CNU expressed, "Although it has been almost 13 years since our debut, we still feel like we haven’t shown a quarter of what we've got. There’s so much we want to do as B1A4."

 

Sandeul wrapped up on a grateful note, saying, "It's a blessing that we have made it to the 13th anniversary of our band. We want to continue this happiness with our fans, BANA.". B1A4
