This year marks the 25th edition of the Jeonju International Film Festival, which raised the topic of 'digital' in the Korean film industry.

 

Subsequently, as digital became prevalent, it sought to transform into a cradle for independent and alternative films.

 

The program 'Digital Three Primary Colors,' expanded under the 'Jeonju Cinema Project,' has achieved remarkable results over the past 11 years by investing in the production of 37 domestic and international independent and art films.

 

Therefore, the special exhibition 'Revisit: 25+50,' celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Korean Film Archive, will be a meaningful occasion to reflect on the paths taken by the Jeonju International Film Festival and the Korean Film Archive and to explore the future.

In 'Rewind: 25+50,' ten films will be screened, including four films that received great acclaim at the Jeonju International Film Festival, four masterpieces of Korean cinema from the 1950s selected by the Korean Film Archive to celebrate its 50th anniversary, and one representative work each from directors Kim Soo-yong and Lee Doo-yong, who passed away last December and January, respectively.

 

All these films will be presented in their latest restored, digitized versions.

Meanwhile, 'Jeonju Cinema Tour X Stroll' is an outdoor movie screening program where you can enjoy movies for free along with special night views at various tourist spots in Jeonju, a city known for its tourism highlights.
