While support for Turkiye and Syria, which were severely damaged by the earthquake, continues around the world, Korean companies have also raised their arms.

Following billions of won in donations, more and more companies are using the company's resources to provide customized support.

LG Electronics announced on the 24th that it will install 120 washing machines and dryers at eight temporary residences for victims in Mersin, south-central Turkiye, and Tarsus, southeast of central, and operate free laundry facilities to help victims wash their clothes clean.

In particular, LG Electronics' service engineer will stay at a free laundry facility and provide necessary support.

In addition, LG Electronics will operate mobile service centers in five cities that are severely damaged from the end of this month.

Mobile service vehicles travel to five cities every day to collect and repair broken home appliances to nearby service centers and deliver them to the customers concerned.

The mobile service vehicle will have the message  'Bu zor günleri birlikte aşacağız (We will overcome the hard days together)' to share the pain of the victims.

Until now, LG has been making efforts to provide practical help by taking advantage of the characteristics of its work in every disaster situation at home and abroad.

A case in point is the support of free electronics inspection services in areas affected by record-breaking torrential rains last year.

Regarding the support for the Turkiye, an LG official said, "We will do our best to support all employees with a sense of mission that they are representing Korea."

LG Uplus also prepared support measures by taking advantage of the characteristics of telecommunication companies.

First, it supports roaming charges for volunteers who are conducting relief activities in Turkiye.

It will also provide support (50%) for international phone call fees so that Korean residents living in Turkiye and Syria, domestic families, and Turkiye and Syrian people staying in Korea can communicate freely.

Other companies besides LG have also come up with customized support measures.

In delivering relief donations, Samsung Electronics provided portable ultrasound diagnostic devices, home appliances for temporary accommodation for victims, digital educational tablets for children of victims' families, and home appliance repair services.

HD Hyundai supported 10 medium-sized excavators for recovery work immediately after the earthquake.

It also delivered winter clothes and remaining winter working clothes that executives and employees had for themselves to wear to Turkiye.

Doosan Group quickly delivered the equipment of Doosan Bobcat, an affiliate of construction machinery manufacturing, through local dealers so that it can be used to save local lives and restore infrastructure such as buildings and roads.

The equipment includes skid loaders and excavators used to remove and move debris, and mobile generators and lighting equipment used in sites where power supply is difficult.

Taking advantage of the characteristics of distribution companies, Lotte Group delivered relief goods consisting of daily necessities such as clothing, hot packs, toothpaste and toothbrushes to areas affected by the earthquake.

The same goes for CJ and Shinsegae. Musinsa, the No. 1 fashion platform in Korea, donated products worth about 400 million won, focusing on winter clothes such as outerwear, padding, and hooded T-shirts.

Kakao and Naver, Korea's leading platform companies, are using their social contribution and donation platforms to raise funds for recovery from earthquake damage and support victims.

An official from an economic group said, "After appealing to member companies to participate in relief activities to recover from Turkiye damage, various support measures are being prepared as well as donations.

We hope the damage will be recovered quickly and the wounds of the people of Turkiye will be healed quickly.

"Meanwhile, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake occurred in Turkiye and Syria on the 6th.

So far, the death toll in both countries has reached nearly 40,000 people, the worst in the country's history.

Major domestic groups such as Samsung (about 3.8 billion won), Hyundai Motor (about 2.5 billion won), SK (about 1.3 billion won), LG (about 1.3 billion won), and Lotte (about 800 million won) decided to provide immediate aid to the affected areas and delivered relief donations one after another.

Domestic economic organizations such as the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Federation of Korean Industries, and the Korea International Trade Association also donated about 100 million won each to recover from the damage as soon as possible.
