Busan City Hosts Special Lunar New Year City Tour Program for International Students
To celebrate the Lunar New Year holiday, the city of Busan and the Busan Tourism Organization are organizing a special city tour program for approximately 50 international students residing in the region.
The event, set for January 21, offers an opportunity for students spending the holiday in Busan to experience the city’s iconic attractions while easing feelings of homesickness and isolation during this festive season.
The initiative centers around Busan City Tour, a renowned attraction featuring open-top double-decker buses.
Participants will explore major landmarks such as Gwangalli Beach, Haeundae Beach, Songdo Beach, Jagalchi Market, and the iconic Busan Port Bridge.
Designed to last around two hours, the tour provides a comprehensive view of Busan’s beauty and culture.
Additional stops at other popular destinations ensure participants can enjoy a unique and memorable experience exclusive to the city.
Busan’s Director of Tourism, Kim Hyun-jae, expressed hopes that this program will deepen international students’ love for Busan.
He added, “We will continue to implement policies that enhance convenience for international tourists and boost Busan’s competitiveness as a global travel destination.”
To further encourage tourism during the Lunar New Year holiday, Busan is offering a variety of promotions aimed at both domestic and international visitors.
Starting January 20, Busan will launch a limited-edition package, aptly named “20,000 Won Happiness,” which includes access to:
Available for just 24,900 KRW, only 2,025 sets will be sold, so early booking is encouraged.
From January 17 to January 31, the city is running a value-packed “New Year City Tour × Busan Tower Combo.”
Passengers on the Busan City Tour’s Western Route can enjoy a 50% discount on both the tour ticket and Busan Tower admission.
Promotional details and route schedules are available on the Busan City Tour official website and the ModiBusan platform.
Typically, Busan City Tour buses do not operate on Mondays and Tuesdays.
However, due to January 27 being designated as a temporary public holiday, the tour will operate as usual to support local tourism industries.
As a result, operations will be paused on Lunar New Year’s Day (Wednesday, January 28) instead.
This initiative is part of Busan’s broader strategy to stimulate domestic demand and attract tourists during the Lunar New Year’s “golden holiday.”
By offering affordable and accessible experiences, the city aims to create a welcoming environment for visitors while boosting local businesses and tourism sectors.
Whether it’s international students seeking comfort and connection or travelers eager to explore Busan’s landmarks, the city’s comprehensive Lunar New Year programs promise an unforgettable experience.
