"Japanese for 60,000 won, Jeju for 20,000 won... The current 'bargain airfare' hotspots.
Jeju Air and Air Seoul compete side by side with Instagram marketing... Less competition and low prices."
Targeting loyal customers ahead of peak season... MZ generation, who mainly use Instagram, as the target.

Airlines are offering hidden discount airfares as they approach the summer vacation season.
The prices are similar to previous promotions, such as Japan for around 60,000 won and Southeast Asia for around 80,000 won, but they are promoting them with minimal publicity targeting their loyal customers.
This relatively low competition is considered a "great tip" for travelers.
According to the airline industry on the 4th, Jeju Air and Air Seoul have been running special promotions called "48-hour Time Attack" and "Air Seoul's Summer Vacation" respectively since the 28th of last month.
Unlike the conventional promotions that are extensively advertised, these promotions were only announced in advance for customers who follow the official Instagram accounts or sign up for their respective applications.
It works by sending real-time notifications if users agree to push notifications on Instagram or the app.
Jeju Air sold one-way tickets to seven cities in Japan, including Narita (Tokyo), Osaka, and Fukuoka, starting from 62,300 won.
They also offered tickets to Jeju Island for 21,800 won and Southeast Asian routes such as Vietnam for 76,500 won and the Philippines for 83,900 won.
Domestic routes received an additional 5% discount for all routes, and international routes had an additional discount for round-trip tickets.
The boarding period is from the 1st to the 31st of this month.
Air Seoul is also selling discounted tickets that can be used until August 31st.
The ticket prices for Japan range from 59,000 won for Fukuoka to 188,800 won for Sapporo, and Southeast Asian routes are sold between 86,000 won and 108,700 won.
These prices are not significantly different from the previous promotions by Jeju Air and Air Seoul.
Jeju Air conducted the "Wishlist Special" until the 27th of last month, and Air Seoul has been running regional promotions, including "Early Summer Vacation."
The airlines are releasing advance booking tickets to secure demand during the peak season. These tickets have a strong element of "clearing" by selling them at low prices to fill the seats of flights with imminent boarding periods.
Among these, industry officials recommend targeting the "hidden" bargain airfares.
Unlike the previous promotions that often led to website crashes as soon as they opened, these promotions have relatively low competition, and the price difference is not significant.
An industry official said, "If we issue press releases and promote them every time, we will only hear about promotions related to airlines," and "It is considered a 'great tip' because the competition is low, and there is little price difference."
There is also a hidden marketing strategy to capture loyal customers in the increasingly competitive low-cost carrier (LCC) market.
It involves encouraging Instagram follows or signing up for the airlines' own apps with discounted airfares.
Especially, Instagram is emerging as a second messenger threatening KakaoTalk, not only for the MZ generation but also among teenagers.
Air Seoul is actually reaping the benefits of Instagram.
Since March, they have been running separate international bargain fare promotions through Instagram, and the number of followers has increased by 15,000 as of this month, reaching 50,000 compared to March (35,000).
