Leeum and Hoam Art Museum are operated as "living art museums" where tradition and modernity coexist seamlessly.

The Samsung Foundation for Culture (Chairman Kim Hwang-sik) announced on the 30th that in addition to the annual large-scale exhibitions, Leeum Art Museum and Hoam Art Museum are seeking to diversify the museum program through various project exhibitions.

Leeum Art Museum has been planning and organizing various works and exhibitions that reinterpret tradition and modernity in a new way, utilizing the characteristics of a museum where classical art and contemporary art coexist.

On the second floor of Leeum Art Museum's M1 (permanent exhibition hall for classical art), an exhibition titled "Eternal Movement - Strange Matrix" by artist Kwon Ha-yoon will be held until September 10th.

This exhibition is a participatory VR work that reinterprets the figures and stories from Kim Hong-do's representative work and national treasure, "Gunsundae," in virtual reality.

It captures the movements and fleeting moments of figures in a weightless state, showcasing the transcendence of Kim Hong-do's work.

Starting in November, a project by Gala Porras-Kim will continue at the museum.

Gala Porras-Kim, a Korean-Colombian artist, will present works that examine the way nations manage and prioritize national treasures and designated artifacts within the historical context of colonization and division between North and South Korea.

At Leeum's lobby, ROOM, the large media wall, and Hoam's Heewon Project Room, interesting projects that explore new possibilities in contemporary art will be showcased.

From June 27th, in the project room located in Hoam Art Museum's beautiful traditional garden Heewon, artist Kang Jae-won will propose the possibilities of future sculpture through highly artificial sculptures created using 3D modeling programs.

The sculptural forms, realized with various materials such as inflatables, 3D printing, and chrome, contrast with the natural surroundings, while the silver surfaces reflect the surrounding nature, creating a collision and fusion of artificiality and nature.

At Leeum Art Museum, starting from July 25th, artist Park Bo-ma will transform the interstitial spaces of the lobby into a flexible and sensory stage through digital images, installations, sound, and scent, as well as performances.

By envisioning the reception space of a virtual company, the project offers a synesthetic experience where easily overlooked materials and peripheral beings become the protagonists.

The participating artists employ new technological experiments and multisensory imagination, showcasing the future of contemporary art.

Kwak Jun-young, the head of exhibition planning at Leeum Art Museum, stated, "Through various exhibitions, Leeum and Hoam Art Museum seek to mediate and interpret tradition and modernity in new ways as a unified art museum, exploring the dynamic possibilities of art."
