Gangneung, in Gangwon Province, is the only city in South Korea with a preserved tea culture heritage site and is also known as the epicenter of the country's coffee scene, with renowned baristas making their mark.

 

Every year in Gangneung, the aromatic Gangneung Coffee Festival is held during the autumn season.

 

It features participation from famous coffee establishments from all over the country, offering free coffee tasting sessions and hosting seminars where coffee enthusiasts can gain professional insights.

 

The festival includes competitions to select the best baristas in various fields such as latte art, hand drip, and roasting.

 

There is also the '100 People, 100 Tastes Barista Performance,' where 100 baristas showcase 100 different coffee flavors.

Through a stamp event, golden coffee beans (pure gold, 1 don) and mugs are given as gifts.

A coffee picnic concert celebrating the festival will be held daily at Gyeongpo Lake Plaza from 2 PM during the festival period.
