6 Favorite Korean winter snacks you should try!!

The temperature has dropped below zero in Korea, and we still have to survive.
Did you experience following the sweet baked delicious smell at the street?
It's time to grab some winter sweets inside our arm on our way home.
Don’t forget to keep some pocket money to buy a winter sweets!
Here are some of the most popular winter foods and snacks in Korea you should try.

 


1. Bungeoppang (붕어빵)

Have you ever seen this cute fish-shaped snack called bungeo-ppang?

Don't worry, it doesn't taste like fish.

It is a cake with red beans in it.

The outside is crispy and the inside is very soft, and the red beans inside taste sweet.

If you don’t like a read bean, then try the cream one.

It it nice as well.🤤

 


2. Hotteok (호떡)

Hotteok is the best choice for locals to help them beat the cold during the winter.

The reason why local Koreans are looking for this hot and sweet snack is because of the warm stickiness that will warm the cold soul and it is cheap, delicious, and sold all over Korea.

Hotteok is made of chewy rice dough filled with warm blacksugar and nuts.  

Becareful not to burn your tongue!

 


3. Hodugaja (호두과자)

One of Korea's favorite street snacks is walnut-shaped small cakes, walnut-shaped snacks.

These are truly comfortable food snacks that can fit right into your mouth.

It is a winter snack with a subtle sweet taste because red beans and walnuts are contained in a round walnut-shaped pancake.

It is also a representative food at rest areas where people usually stop by while driving a car.

 


4. Oemuk (어묵)

Fish cake is called "Oemuk" in Korea.

It is a seafood processed product made of ingredients such as potato starch, sugar, and vegetables by grinding white fish.

Oemuk is one of the popular ingredients in Korea and is used in soup, side dishes, and kimbap.

In particular, fish cake with a soup, which is eaten with skewers in broth, is popular as a street food that is loved by men and women of all ages along with tteokbokki.

Not like above sweets, it’s a savoury food.

You can warm your body outdoor with this warm food.

 


5. Roasted Chestnuts (군밤), Baked sweet potato (군고구마)

Another favorite winter snack is roasted chestnuts and baked sweet potato.

These days you can also easily find those things in a Convenience store as well.

Sweet and nutty smell will lead us to roasted chestnuts and sweet potato.

 


6. Jjinpang (찐빵)

Inside the bun filled with different flavour, if you feel hungry during the walk, why don’t you try Jjinpang?

You can choose between, readbean paste, vegetable, meat, pizza and some more.
