10 Recommended K-Markets

🛍🛍🛍 Local Markets 🛍🛍🛍

(SEOUL-International News) By Reporter Yu Ji-hyun - The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization have selected the top 10 "K-Tourism Markets".

Based on the unique appeal of each market, connectivity with surrounding tourist destinations, and the local economic impact, 10 markets from across the country have been chosen.

Efforts will be made to discover the attractions, food, and entertainment of traditional markets to foster them as representative Korean tourism products, and develop tourism courses linked to surrounding attractions.

To make traditional markets more appealing to the Millennial and Gen Z generations, meetings with them will be held to discuss plans to revitalize the markets.

There will also be a focus on domestic and international marketing efforts.

Customized marketing campaigns will be implemented based on the preferences of the Millennial, middle-aged, and senior generations, as well as analysis of media usage.

Market-specific ambassadors will be appointed to maintain continued public interest, and traditional market relay events will be held monthly.

Marketing efforts such as participating in overseas trade shows and producing TV programs will also be carried out to make "K-Tourism Markets" loved by Koreans and included on the bucket lists of travelers around the world.

Park Jong-taek, head of the Tourism Policy Division at the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, stated, "The selection of the 'K-Tourism Markets' will provide an opportunity for traditional markets full of hospitality and harmony with local residents to become a must-visit destination for travelers worldwide, not just in Korea.

Through the 'K-Tourism Markets' project, we plan to consolidate the cooperation of local governments and the private sector to develop traditional markets into representative tourism attractions and to lead the local economy."
